Butterfly Tree

Butterfly blooms2

Did you ever see butterfly blossoms on a tree? That is what this pin oak looked like. We have been having some beautiful weather which prompted a trip to the local lake for a cookout. We found a location near a mountain-climbing area. Starting the charcoals to heat up while we unloaded the food, movement on a tree caught my eye. Taking a closer look, the trees were covered with butterflies. This photo has five in it. It was difficult to catch more than that as they flew in and out in swarms. I almost always have at least one camera with me. I was so glad I had grabbed the big one that day.

We enjoyed them as we prepared on chicken breast, sweet potatoes and onion all in foil to just through on the fire. Lloyd did some sketching and I snapped pictures. We watched the people on the mountain (No climbing for us this time.) The rest of the time, we just talked and laughed remember other outing we shared when we traveled or years ago with family and friends. It was a fun-filled day with the exception of some little black and orange bugs that started biting us.

All in all, it was one of those days that you don’t want to end.

Live making memories.

I have not only lived many chapters in one life, but many lives in one body. The person I am today is far wiser than the me of young adulthood. My life is like your life with its ebb and flow. We are all connected in some way. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother, but what makes me, well, me is the way I wife, mother, and grandmother. I am a liver transplant survivor. Whatever devastation you have survived, we survived in our individual ways. I create with words and photos. I am a writer and photographer.
